Create the future at the Center of
Nissan's dynamic management together!
At Nissan Motor, I am mainly in charge of 4 areas: Corporate strategy, New mobility service development, Governance, and the Operation of the Executive Committee. Our mission of the Corporate Strategy Office is to lead Nissan to sustainable and profitable growth, and it is responsible for steering the company. The mission of the Global Mobility Service Business Department is to develop Global Nissan's new mobility services and the strategies. We are working with local governments and partner companies to create new businesses..
In order to provide innovative cars and services , corporate governance is the foundation of our company, and the Corporate Governance Department and Corporate Management Department will strengthen governance and promotes all risk management activities throughout Nissan Group.
Nissan has announced its long-term vision, "Nissan Ambition 2030," which aims to pioneer mobility and beyond to create a clean, safe, and inclusive world. The Corporate Strategy Office played a central role in creating a vision and showing leadership to expand it globally. In order to realize new mobility services, which is part of our long-term vision, we are collaborating with partners to promote initiatives such as "Easy Ride", a transportation service for unmanned vehicles, and "Namie Smart Mobility" in Fukushima Prefecture. In terms of governance, in 2019 we transitioned to a company with a nominating committee that separates execution from supervision, oversight, and auditing, strengthening the company from its foundation.
"Nissan Ambition 2030" is Nissan's goal.. In order to achieve it, e it is important that all employees come together to discuss what Nissan should be like. I hope that not only the head office, but also overseas regions, all functions, and diverse people will see the future of Nissan as their own and grow the company while each one of them is enriching. One of Nissan's great strengths is its diversity, which allows it to accept different values and opinions.
I still remember many people in the industry asking who would buy the Nissan Leaf, the world's first mass-produced electric vehicle. However, without the challenges of that time, the Nissan of today would not exist. If you don't do it now, it's too late to regret it later, especially in business. The Nissan LEAF also faced a series of difficulties but overcame them to become the electric vehicle that Nissan is proud of today and has been supported by customers for more than 10 years. Looking to the future and taking on challenges is exactly what Nissan's DNA is: "Do what others don’t dare to do.". A culture of tackling any challenge is deeply rooted in Nissan.
The 4 areas, including Corporate strategy, New mobility service development, Governance, and Executive committee operations, are at the center of Nissan's dynamic management and provide a global overview. It's not a strategy unless all the pieces are connected. Developing a strategy for a global company like Nissan is not so easy task, but it is also a rewarding job. I would like to challenge this once-in-a-century period of change together with people who are willing to challenge.
